Black Fire Records was founded in 2004 by college students in northern New Mexico. It was orignally concieved as a way of distributing our music and art work in a (mostly) digital format. In 2004, digital audio workstations (DAWs) were becoming affordable enough that almost everyone started recording and producing their own music. Black Fire Records was a one in everyone. We have been home recording and slowly becoming better at it since that time. After recording hundreds of songs in less than ideal spaces, we have learned some time and money saving techniques that will make your recordings sound their best. Many of those techniques are described on the Studio and Recording pages.
Black Fire Records currently has two bands that consistently release new material. Geek Miser is BFR's newest project and represents a big first for us... our first acoustic album ever! Blues inspired vocals with southern drawled acoustic guitars make Geek Miser easy to groove too! Their songs are unique and easy to listen to. Excogigate is BFR's original heavy metal band. Originally formed in 2002, Excogigate has produced three full length albums worth off heavy and progressive metal! Their latest and greatest album, Lamentations was released in May of 2010!
