Geek Miser was created in 2010 as a experimental acoustic side project for myself. I only used acoustic instruments; no amps, no effects, just the instrucments. The debut release is from May 2010 and is self-titled: Geek Miser. Click on any of the links or the album cover to listen to Geek Miser and download music for free!
Geek Miser is an experimental acoustic rock project that I created in an effort to expand my musical horizons and creativity. I ended up with some interesting results. Geek Miser has hints of a southern blues with syncopated rhythms and some complex time signatures. All of the tracks are one take and then overlayed and mastered into a single track. The recording is all done in my basement recording space on my personal home recording equipment. It is worth listening too!
The recording space is the first utilization of many new techniques, strategies and modifications that really improved the quality of the recording itsef. The tracks for this album turned out exceptionally crisp and rich thanks to new sound stages, sound control, and microphone positions. To read more on how I recorded the album, check out my Home Recording page. It is full of useful information and techniques!
