There is new music!
Geek Miser has a debut album! It is my first attempt at an acoustic blues-ish album. I don't actually listen to that much acoustic music, so it is hard to say exactly what the influences are or what it sounds like. I hear elements of Down, Corrosion of Conformity, Alice in Chains, and Pantera. Except acoustic and without an awesome singer. It actually works really well! Check it out!
Excogitate has three albums for those of you who need your death metal fix!
Black Fire Records has been recording and producing music since 2004. We currently have two bands that are alive and kicking out music! Check them out!
Geek Miser is Black Fire Record's first acoustic band. They feature a southern blues-rock inspired sound with a stoner metal sheen. Their self-titled debut ablum was released in Febuary 2011. Geek Miser has been influenced by Down, Clutch, Corrosion of Conformity, Alice in Chains and Weezer. They have low-tuned acoustic guitars, melodic vocals and a retro inspired production. It is worth listening to! Check out Geek Miser!
Excogitate is the original Black Fire Record's band. Formed in 2002, Black Fire Records was created to record, produce and distribute the metal created by Excogitate. Originally made up of high-school students, Excogitate now exists as a solo project. The first two albums were written and composed by a drummer and guitarist, but recorded by only one person. The most recent album, Lamentations , was released in 2010 and represents the first entirely solo writing and recording process. It has a heaveir and more mature sound for Excogitate which can be classified as a form of melodic death metal. Influences include Strapping Young Lad, In Flames, At the Gates, Opeth and Tool. If you are into metal, you will not be disapointed by Excogitate!
